Miss You So Much

Hi bloggers!  I started with a green background that I embossed with the Venus Crest Embossing folder.  I matted it on to a piece of black card.
I then cut an aperture using the largest die in the Labels 28 set.  I embossed the Vintage Lace border into the card below the aperture.  Using a piece of black seam binding, I ran it across the top of the embossing and tied a messy bow to the left side.  I added a floral cameo from my craft stash to the centre of the bow as an accent.  Next I cut a decorative labels 27 in black card as the back piece to my layered focal element.  I used the same green card as my background and cut a decorative labels one to add as the next layer.   I cut a Vintage Lace accent piece out of taupe card and a small Asian motif piece.  I cut that piece into fours and mounted each piece so just the tip of it was peeking out from underneath the Vintage Lace accent.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with Labels 27 and inked it lightly with a mixture of Tumbled Glass and Bundled Sage to match my card.  I pierced around the edges and added a few flatback pearls to the corners to finish it.  Recently, I have had quite a few emails asking about the sentiment stamps that I use.  I don't usually list them, mainly because I can never recall the names of the stamp sets they come from, but each and every stamp you see on my blog comes from Creative Expressions so you can always find them on their website.  Another quick thing that I would like to point out is that my cards are always (well 99% of the time at least) the result of whatever products that I am supposed to use for the shows that I do.  More often than not, I pick a sentiment that simply fits the shapes that I am using for that particular card.  I probably wouldn't have used this particular sentiment on this card, but it was the only thing that worked here.  So when you look at one of my cards, I hope that you may want to use bits and pieces of them to suit your own needs, not necessarily that you feel the need to copy it exactly.  You may like the style of this card or maybe even the colour of it, but would never use this sentiment with it and I get that, they are just supposed to be samples to show the products that you may want to purchase and use with your own cardmaking.  I just hope that you walk away with a bit of it to inspire you.  All for now, Sue x

  4. Hi Sue, as you say your cards promote products for yor shows and can be adapted for your own use. It's lovely using sentiments other than the run of the mill "Happy Birthday" etc. I love this card and feel label 28 needs to be bought.

Today's card is really lovely but your blog cracked me up. I know that you were being serious but there is a little irony in your comments about selling the ideas of the craft. This is giving us the inspiration to do them too & not necessarily in the same colours or with the same sentiment. You do this yourself for whoever you are making the card for. Maybe in their favourite colours or whatever you have in your stash that you can match together. As appreciated too, every sentiment comes in different sizes. It's just a matter of finding or using a die that will fit your sentiment stamp & goes perfectly with the card too! Thank you Sue for your wonderful inspiration & all the hard work that you do to that makes us go..."WOW!" xx Love Karen xx
